Elom reflects on Scott's reflections: Heroes- Part 9

I never get tired of hearing stories of God's provision!

Stories from the Bible, from people I know, from strangers, from my own life... I can honestly say that God has provided for me more times than I can count this year. I know He will continue to do the same the rest of my life...

One of the most sobering aspects of the miraculous meal from the story in 2 Kings 7 is how the doubting officer ends up: dead. Broke. Hungry. Desperate. Trampled on. Dead. His tone in the story must have been pretty obnoxious and cynical to deserve such a treatment. At least, I hope so. Trusting God for everything is not always easy, at least for me. It sometimes takes reassurance after reassurance, miracle after miracle, act of kindness after act of kindness... I am working on this, but I like to think that this is how God keeps me on my toes.

God provides in ANY situations, but He has more, so much more in store... I recently finished reading The Seven Mountain Prophecy by Johnny Enlow, and I particularly liked the author's description of manna:

"-Manna was never God's original plan". (pg 33)

Manna sounds nutritious and all, but I would rather have a cup of honey with a side of milk! All in good time though...
